Today, BIA releases “Raised Me” (listen HERE) – a catchy and poignant retelling of Petey Pablo’s regional anthem, “Raise Up.” The “Whole Lotta Money” rapper’s reimagined track comes courtesy of entertainment company Mass Appeal in partnership with Google Pixel and Sony Music Entertainment’s Certified as part of the “Pixel RePresents” series. In honor of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary, Pixel RePresents elevates women in Hip Hop by showcasing some of today’s most promising female rappers, reenvisioning genre-defining era transcending songs.
Leading up to the release of “Raised Me,” both Lola Broke and Flo Milli threw their proverbial hats into the ring with “Blind Em,” a nod to the Clipse’s enduring hit “Grindin” and “B.T.W” a clever spin on Too $hort’s “Blow The Whistle” respectively. Each reconceptualized track comes with unique artwork photographed on a Google Pixel 7 Pro With Real Tone technology, which equitably captures and represents all skin tones.
“Raised Me” is accompanied by a BTS video, an interview series, and social campaign, directed by Creator Labs artist Myesha Evon Gardner. Videos will also live on EBONY.com, which serves as the central hub for all RePresents BTS content. “B.T.W,” “Blind Em,” “Raised Me,” and every subsequent release will culminate in the Pix Tape EP, slated for release in August alongside the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop.
Pixel RePresents is part of Mass Appeal’s Hip Hop 50 initiative, a global, multifaceted landmark celebration commemorating Hip Hop’s 50th year. Beyond Pixel RePresents, Mass Appeal has tapped Google Pixel as the exclusive handset device for Hip Hop 50. Additionally, Mass Appeal has partnered with Certified, the digital destination platform celebrating SME’s Hip Hop catalog, to unveil 50 product releases in honor of Hip Hop’s 50th birthday.

BIA’s bars are powered by her hard-won self-assurance. The Boston-bred platinum international music star has hustled for years to create her own brand of narratively rich and emotional music, and though she has all eyes on her now, she possessed the same confidence even when nobody was watching. That conviction informs her Timbaland-produced new single, “I’M THAT BITCH,” as well as two more show-stopping singles on the way. BIA originally came up in Boston, and at 14, she was hanging around battle rappers in the studio. Before long, she opened on tours for Ariana Grande and Pusha T. She generated even more momentum with the EP For Certain, her Epic Records debutin December 2020. Come July 2021, she’d landed Nicki Minaj for a “Whole Lotta Money” remix. The record went 2x Platinum and became BIA’s second Hot 100 hit, peaking at No. 16. Now, BIA is building an empire beyond music. She fronted the campaign for a clothing collaboration between Diddy’s Sean John and UK-based Missguided. Rihanna tapped her to perform at Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3. BIA even repurposed her For Certain track “Skate” for the 2021 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs. This was all before launching her Beauty for Certain cosmetics line, as well as collaborations with Jordan Brand, Foot Locker and KISS Nails. She also performed at the NBA pre-All-Star Game and Spotify’s First Ever Feeling Myself Fashion Show in 2023. Now, she’s laying the foundation for a boundless future, with a vision for singular greatness.
