Five years since releasing the follow-up to his global breakthrough album, Rubyworks/Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings will reissue Hozier’s 2019 sophomore album Wasteland, Baby! as a double vinyl with previously unreleased bonus tracks.

The 2LP set will be available in the U.S. on April 19 as an Amazon exclusive, available in sea blue and light blue color variants. Pre-order Wasteland, Baby! HERE

In addition to the album’s original 14 tracks, including fan favorites “Nina Cried Power,” “Almost (Sweet Music),” “Movement” and “Would That I,” the expanded Wasteland, Baby! vinyl will offer a fourth side of five non-album tracks. “Moment’s Silence (Common Tongue)” and “NFWMB” were first released on the Nina Cried Power EP issued in 2018, while a live-in-studio rendition of “Shrike” was released as a digital single that same year. The acoustic version of “Be” and “Why Would You Be Loved,” recorded during the original album sessions, are released here for the first time. “Be (Acoustic)” is available now on all DSPs, and “Why Would You Be Loved” will be available digitally day and date with the Wasteland, Baby! vinyl on April 19.

After scoring an international Top 10 hit with his self-titled album in 2014 and touring around the world in support of his work – during which time he earned a Grammy Award nomination for Song of the Year for his smash single “Take Me to Church” – Andrew Hozier-Byrne took a well-earned break in his native Ireland, returning to songwriting amid a period of global turbulence. Inspired by the unease brought on by Brexit, nationalism and climate change, Wasteland, Baby! was a body of work intent on finding moments of hope and beauty in dark times, turning to R&B and folk influences on tracks like “Nina Cried Power,” “Almost (Sweet Music),” “Sunlight” and “Be.”

Two living legends of soul music made guest appearances on Wasteland, Baby!: Mavis Staples lent her inimitable vocals to “Nina Cried Power,” while organist Booker T. Jones lent his talents to five tracks on the album. In the U.S., the album became Hozier’s first to top the Billboard 200, additionally peaking at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums and Folk Albums charts. It also reached the Top 10 in Ireland, the U.K., Scotland, Canada and Australia.

Hozier, who scored another international Top 5 album with Unreal Unearth in 2023, will embark on a sold-out U.S. tour this summer, including four nights at Forest Hills Stadium in New York and headlining festivals such as Boston Calling and Hinterland Music Festival.
