Simon & Garfunkel - Keeping Time: The Photographs of Don Hunstein

18 DEC 2013 | VIA LEGACYRECORDINGS.COM

They were always an odd pair, Simon & Garfunkel, with a Mutt-and-Jeff height difference and a decidedly uneven workload: Simon was the songwriter, guitarist and lead singer, Garfunkel the backup voice. But they were friends and longtime collaborators, and their folk-rock vocal blend kept them together through the 1960's; only their personalities moved apart. This stunning shot of Simon, on the left, and Garfunkel was taken in April 1969, one month after “Mrs. Robinson,” the chart-topping single from "The Graduate" soundtrack, was named Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards. It's part of a magnificent new book called KEEPING TIME: THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF DON HUNSTEIN: INSIDE THE UNSEEN ARCHIVE OF COLUMBIA RECORDS, newly published by Insight Editions.
