Marvin Isley of The Isley Brothers, dies at 56
On June 6, 2010, Marvin Isley of died at the age of 56 in Chicago of as-yet-undisclosed causes.
Marvin Isley is the youngest of brothers in the group called The Isley Brothers, as well as a bass guitarist. Before Marvin joined the band in 1973, the Isley Brothers were hard-touring soul legends. Their 1959 rave-up "Shout" first propelled them on to AM radio, and their next big hit, 1962's "Twist and Shout" sold three million copies and was famously covered by the Beatles.
Let's celebrate the life of Marvin by listening to the music of the Isley Brothers starting with the song "The Blacker The Berrie". Enjoy!
