Jimi Hendrix died 40 years ago today in London. By acclamation the greatest guitarist in rock history, Hendrix spent the final three and a half years of his life creating some of the most remarkable and legendary recordings of the 20th century. These recordings are now part of the Sony Music family, and today's featured album is the last of the three original studio albums Jimi released in his lifetime: Electric Ladyland, issued in November 1968.
