Lauryn Hill, born May 25, 1975, is a talented recording artist and musician that also branched into becoming a producer and actress. Originally starting with the hip-hop group the Fugees, she launched her career as a solo artist in 1998 with the commercially successful album titled, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill album was released in August 1998. It went 8-times platinum in the US alone. The leading single "Doo Wop (That Thing)" topped charts in the US market as well.

The South Orange, New Jersey native was in the 1993 movie as a co-star to Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.

Lauryn Hill, also known as "L Boogie" has an MTV Unplugged album called MTV Unplugged No. 2.0, which features new material from her.
