Teaser AND Body of Full Post Picture The 2014 Race for Hope-DC kicked-off led by David and hundreds of brain tumor survivors, supported by nearly 12,000 participants! The 2014 Race for Hope in Washington D.C. was another huge success this year, with nearly 12,000 attendees and more than 600 different hard-working teams collectively raising a grand total of over $2.25 million by race day to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. David, as Team Captain, accepts recognition for being one of the top fundraising teams again this year! David Cook and his Team for a Cure 's 300-strong contingent, helped raise an amazing $88,500+ (not including team event and t-shirt proceeds, which have yet to be added) in donations by race day. Over the past five years, David and his fans have raised nearly $1 million for brain cancer research through the Race for Hope and other fundraising projects! Wanting to recognize and thank his fans for their continuing support and generosity, David spent time the Saturday before the Race with 200 Team for a Cure members able to attend an exclusive Team event that included a Q&A and short acoustic session at The Hamilton in Washington, DC, where prizes were also given out to top Team fundraisers.
