Barbra Streisand – Keeping Time: The Photographs of Don Hunstein

Barbra Streisand didn’t stay in cabarets very long. With a voice that could rise from lustrous delicacy to brassy yet poised emotional peaks, she made virtuosity approachable and still boffo. Streisand triumphed in the early 1960s where, early on in a career that would span five decades with Columbia Records, she allowed Don Hunstein to capture rare candid images of her — like this one in 1962 at Cafe Bon Soir in New York City. This stunning shot of Streisand is part of a magnificent new book, newly published by Insight Editions, called KEEPING TIME: THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF DON HUNSTEIN: Inside The Unseen Archive of Columbia Records.
