Country music singer Willie Nelson became the subject of a road movie when he starred in Honeysuckle Rose as a country singer whose life begins to unravel after he gets involved with the young daughter of his closest friend. Also starring Amy Irving and Dyan Cannon, the film deftly blended its many musical numbers into the dramatic storyline. Highlights of the score included “On The Road Again,” which became one of Nelson’s signature themes and was used again in the film Forrest Gump.

Phillies Records To Release Monumental "Wall of Sound" Catalog Through Legacy Recordings

Sony Music Entertainment and EMI Music Publishing have struck an historic licensing deal to release, through Sony's Legacy Recordings, the monumental catalog of Phil Spector's Philles Records recordings from a range of artists including the Ronettes, the Crystals, Bob B. Soxx & the Blue Jeans, Lenny Bruce and more. The new deal covers the United States, with an international roll-out to follow.
