Crossing over seamlessly from R & B to jazz and back again, Washington's music was at once synonymous with the burgeoning Smooth Jazz and Quiet Storm radio formats of the 1980s and '90s, and very much a part of any good straight-ahead station.  Here are eleven of his coolest recorded performances.
