Wham! (frequently styled as WHAM!) were an 80s (1981 - 1986) pop duo comprised of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. Best known for their massive No.1 hit singles "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" and "Careless Whisper", from their smash hit album Make It Big. "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go", inspired by a badly worded note left for Michael by Ridgley, even spawned a fashion trend of Katharine E. Hamnett t-shirts baring the logos "CHOOSE LIFE" and "GO GO", as worn by the pair and their backing singers in the video. The duo went their separate ways after three studio albums and twelve top ten hits most notably "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go", "Careless Whisper", "Freedom", "Everything She Wants", "I'm Your Man" and "A Different Corner". Michael went on to have a massively successful solo career and Ridgeley is an environmentalist and co-owner of business that manufactures surfing equipment.
