One of the most successful pop-R&B groups to emerge from the 1970s, The Pointer Sisters delivered a long list of hit singles right into the 80s. Sisters in real life, Ruth, Anita, and June Pointer (along with original sister-member Bonnie) were an immensely talented family. They not only co-wrote much of their material, but each member also interpreted the songs with influential lead-vocal style and tight harmonic back-up abilities. Though many of these hits are over 20 years old, their smart, funky-pop sensibility and timelessness keeps these tracks in heavy radio rotation to this day.
