RUN-D.M.C. is arguably the greatest group in hip-hop history. They were the first hip-hop act to have a #1 album on the R&B charts; go Platinum; get airplay on MTV; be nominated for a Grammy; make the cover of Rolling Stone; hit the Pop Top 10; fuse rap and rock; appear on Saturday Night Live; and wear their street clothes on stage, among many other achievements. It’s safe to say that hip-hop as we know it would not have existed without RUN-D.M.C.
