Merging contemporary urban sensibilities with the traditional gospel quartet sound, 7 Sons of Soul bring a refreshing twist to the gospel genre. The group was formed in Washington, D.C., after singers Cliff Jones and Deonte Gray had completed recording a song, "Run On," in the studio and, pleased with the results, decided to officially assemble a group and complete a whole album. Jones and Gray drafted singer Dave "DaveyBoy" Lindsey along with drummer Paul "Buggy" Edwards, keyboardist Sam Kendrick, and bassist Nathaniel Fields, and 7 Sons of Soul were born.
