Legacy Song of the Day - Alice In Chains "Dirt"

Thursday, July 15, 2010
Grunge gets darker. Coming from the same sonic Seattle neighborhood that begat Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden, Alice In Chains was the heaviest-in more ways than one. Their dense, pounding musical grooves bridge the gulf between the darkest metalheads and the gloomiest alterna-fans with lyrics to match, depicting a world of living death and the real thing. All is not fun and games in the ‘90s. “Would?” comes from the album Dirt, the band’s second full-length album release. It reached Number 6 on the charts in 1992.
